1960s Ace of Hearts 14′- Ace Traveler Company

Description: FOR SALE:

“Ace of Hearts” vintage travel trailer from the Ace Traveler Company of Maine. 1960s.

A solid, well-built, dry, and reliable “canned ham” camper, the Ace is a head-turning one of a kind that is looking for a new home. It was built in Alfred, ME in the glory days of weekend family getaway tow behinds. While very similar to Shastas and other more well known campers, this rarity is distinguished from other campers of the same vintage by some unique characteristics including quilted aluminum interior paneling, a full-size slide-out futon, a clever upper-bunk cot, and a well laid out and very spacious interior floor plan.

Weighing in at somewhere under 2,000 lbs, it is an easy to tow, easy to set up, spacious camper that has all of your basic needs: accommodations for 4, basic kitchen, dinette, a bone dry roof, and even a spacious closet with potential for a toilet/porta potty if you wish! And style to go with it all. This really is a one of a kind vintage camper that is turn key ready for summer vacationing.

I’ve enjoyed getting to know this little gem but it’s time to pass it on to the next appreciative owner. While best appreciated in person, here are some of the specs and projects completed recently. If interested, please reach out and let’s talk.

Specs:

Overall length: 14.5′ (11’x7′ interior)
Weight: ~1,600 lbs (see my note below about this)
Sleeps: 4 (full size slide out bed, single size fold down table, and single size upper bunk cot)
Electrical: 120V shore power for 3 lights and 1 outlet. 12V capabilities for 1 light, 1 outlet
Propane: Stove and lantern
Windows: 4 large, all original, operable jalousie windows, 1 fixed (door)
Kitchen: sink with city water faucet and hand pump faucet, 2 burner stove top, ice box
Storage: Lots of cupboards as well as under bench. Large closet with potential for toilet or porta potty if you wanted.

Work done on the exterior:
-Paint job (sprayed oil-based enamel on skin)
-New propane regulator, 120V shore power plug-in, LED tail lights, 4-pin wiring harness, decal

Work done on the interior:
-Paint job (oil-based enamel on aluminum paneling, acrylic latex on wood paneling)
-Custom oak slide out bed frame
-New flooring (VCT tile)
-Curtains are being sewn now

*Note on weight:
I don’t know the exact weight. However, from comparisons with the similarly sized 16′ Shasta Loflyte, the 1,600 lbs. range seems like a good guess.

Please feel free to get in touch with any questions. $6950 or best reasonable offer. Ready to go camping next weekend! Delivery within 200 miles a negotiable.

More pictures to come later this week.
